“I have decided to volunteer for the Federation to learn how our community most wants to take care of its own. As a board co-chair, I hope to use my business experience to continue maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations so that we can impact more lives.”
David Weiner is a first-generation American on his father’s side. Much of Weiner’s involvement in Jewish communal work over the past 30 years is motivated by this status.
Weiner has participated in the Wexner Heritage Program. He has served on the National Council of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and chaired the AIPAC Phoenix Chapter where he hosted three congressional trips to Israel.
Weiner has devoted much of his time to the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix where he served as past chair of the Israel Overseas Council and received the Young Leadership Award for his commitment to the Federation and the community. In addition, Weiner has served on Arizona Governor Jane Hull’s Task Force on Diversity and as board chair of the Jewish Community Foundation. In 2015, he was asked to be an assembly member of the Jewish Agency for Israel Board of Governors.
Following his graduation from The American University with a BA in Political Science, Weiner joined his father in the family business. He is now president of Weiner Insurance, specializing in employee and executive benefit programs and with offices in Chicago and Scottsdale.
Weiner fills his free time on the golf course and collecting vintage cars.
“I enjoy sharing our story, how there is no other organization in the world that touches more Jewish lives than the Federation. Whether it is the elderly, students on campus, or Jewish communities in Israel and around the world.”
